Remove Background
You can remove the background from a photo. With few marks
you can simply and quickly remove some areas of the photo.
Steps
To remove the background of a photo
- Open a photo in the RGB color space.
- In the Layer tab of the window, double click on the 'Background'
image to change it to a layer.
If the Layer window does not appear, click Window
> Options.
- Click Edit > Remove Background.
- In the Remove Background window, click Foreground
Mark under Tools.
- Draw lines to specify areas where you want to preserve from the
photo.
The colors included in the lines or marks by Foreground Mark
will be kept.

- Click Background Mark under Tools.
- Draw lines to specify areas where you want to remove from the photo.

- Clear the Show Marks check box and click the Result
Mode check box under View Mode to preview
the result.

- Click Apply.
The Remove Background window closes.

Mode
- Show Marks: Show or hide the foreground and background marks.
- Edit: You can define your own canvas size. You can set the canvas
size in various units, such as pixel, mm, cm, and point.

- Result: You can define your own canvas size. You can set the canvas

- Fit to Window: Adjust the photo size to fit to the window width.
When clicking the Fit to Window
icon,
the photo size changes to the window width and it does not change
the actual size.
Tools
- Foreground Marker: Mark the object you want to keep in the photo.
- Background Marker: Mark the background you want to remove from
the photo.
- Eraser: Erase marks that cross boundaries to make clear edges of
the object in the photo.
- Pan: Move the magnified photo up, down, left, or right using a
mouse to bring the area of the photo into view.
Reset Button
Erase all the marks on the photo.
Apply Button
Close the Remove Background window and apply changes
to the photo.

Restrictions
There are some restrictions to remove the background of a photo. See
details in the following table.

Background removal is available on only the image layer.
Other types of layers such as shape, text, and fill are not
allowed. It is not available on the following layers.

- hidden layer
- zero-size layer
- layer with locked transparent pixels or image pixels
- layer grouped with a hidden layer
- multiple layers in selection
