Foxit PDF Reader Mobile easily allows you to do the following:
- Create a Folder
- Move the File or Folder
- Copy the File or Folder
- Rename the File or Folder
- Share the File
- Upload the File
- Delete the File or Folder
- Add Tags to Files
- Zip and Unzip the File or Folder
- Compare Two PDF Files
- Save the PDF File
- Flatten the PDF File

- View and Edit the Document Properties
Create a Folder
- Tap to open the Tool Selector;
- Tap Documents;
- (On iPad) Tap on the toolbar;
(On iPhone) Tap , and choose New Folder; - Input the name of the folder;
- Tap Create.
Move the File or Folder
- Tap to open the Tool Selector;
- Tap Documents;
- Do one of the following:
Tips:
1. Before moving a file or folder, you should create the destination folder ahead of time.
2. By drag-and-drop, you can only move a file or folder into the target folder. If you want to move a file or folder out of a folder, use the document management tool in Edit group.
Copy the File or Folder
- Tap to open the Tool Selector;
- Tap Documents;
- Tap on the toolbar at the top;
- Select one or more files or folders;
- Tap ;
- Choose the target folder, and tap Copy.
Tip: Before copying the file or folder, you should create the destination folder ahead of time.
Rename the File or Folder
- Tap to open the Tool Selector;
- Tap Documents;
- Do one of the following:
- Scroll down and find the file or folder you want to rename, tap , and choose Rename;
- Tap on the toolbar at the top, select the file or folder, and tap ;
- Input the name, and tap OK.
Share the File
- Tap to open the Tool Selector;
- Tap Documents;
- Do one of the following:
- Scroll down and find the file you want to share, tap, and choose Share;
- Tap on the toolbar at the top, select the file, choose ;
- Input the email address and tap Send to share the file via email.
Upload the PDF File
- Tap to open the Tool Selector;
- Tap Documents;
- Tap on the toolbar at the top;
- Select the files you want to upload, and tap (on iPad) or More > Upload (on iPhone);
- Select a cloud service which you want to upload the files to. If you haven't added the cloud service in Foxit PDF Reader Mobile before, tap Add to add the cloud service first (see "Add a Cloud Service" for details).
- Tap Upload.
Delete the File or Folder
- Tap to open the Tool Selector;
- Tap Documents;
- Do one of the following:
- Scroll down and find the file or folder you want to delete, tap , and choose Delete;
- Tap on the toolbar at the top, select the file or folder, and tap ;
- Tap Delete again to confirm your operation.
Add Tags to Files
With Foxit PDF Reader Mobile, you can add tags to files to categorize them in groups, and access and manage your files quickly and easily.
Create and Manage Tags
Foxit PDF Reader Mobile provides default tags including Favorites, Work, and Learning for you to categorize and manage files. You can also create new tags with the following steps:
- Tap to open the Tool Selector;
- Tap Documents;
- Tap on the top right corner of the Documents panel;
- In the Tags window, tap on the top right corner;
- In the pop-up Manage Tags dialog box, do the following:
- Tap , and input the name to create a new tag. The number shown beside the tag name indicates the number of files that contain the tag.
- Select a custom tag, and tap to rename the tag, or tap to delete the tag.
- By default, your custom tags will be displayed after the default tags by creation time in the descending order. If you want to re-order custom tags shown in the Tags window, tap and hold on beside the tag, and drag it to the desired position after the default tags.
- Upon completion, tap on the top left corner to close the Manage Tags dialog box.
Tip: The default tags (Favorites, Work, and Learning) are predefined by Foxit PDF Reader Mobile, which cannot be edited, deleted, or re-ordered.
Add Tags to Files
Foxit PDF Reader Mobile provides multiple ways for you to add tags and categorize files conveniently. You can add five tags to a file at the most. For tagged files, you will find a tag icon displayed in the file details (in List view) or on the file thumbnail (in Thumbnail view) in Documents and Recent panel.
Add Tags to Files in Tags Window
- Tap to open the Tool Selector;
- Tap Documents;
- Tap on the top right corner of the Documents panel;
- In the Tags window, do the following:
- Foxit PDF Reader Mobile will select and display the Favorites tag list by default. If you need to add another tag to files, select the tag first. Your last selected tag will be remembered and displayed the next time you open the Tags window.
- Tap the Add files button;
- In the Select Documents dialog box, select one or more files, and tap OK.
- After adding tags, you can tap under the file name, and choose Edit Tag to update tags for the file. Please refer to "Edit Tag Dialog Box" for more information.
Add Tags to Files in Documents or Recent Panel
To add tags to files listed in Documents or Recent panel, please follow the steps below.
- Tap to open the Tool Selector;
- Tap Documents or Recent to open the Documents panel or Recent panel respectively;
- Tap beside the file that you want to add tags to, and select Edit Tag;
- In the Edit Tag dialog box, do the following:
- Select one or more tags (five at the most) from the existing tags list;
- If you want to add a new tag to the file, input the tag name in the Please enter a new tag field, and tap . The new tag will be added and kept as selected.
- Upon completion, tap Done.
Add Tags to an Opened File
Follow the steps below to add tags to a currently opened file in Foxit PDF Reader Mobile.
- On the document pane, tapon the toolbar at the top;
- Select Edit Tag;
- Follow the instructions on "Edit Tag Dialog Box" to add tags.
Tip: After adding tags to files, you can redo the operations mentioned above to update tags for the files.
Display Files with Tags
You can filter files by tags to quickly find the ones you need.
- Tap to open the Tool Selector;
- Tap Documents;
- Tap on the top right corner of the Documents panel to open the Tags window;
- Tap the tag name in the Tags window, and the files with the selected tag will be listed. Then you can tap the file directly to open it in Foxit PDF Reader Mobile.
Remove Tags from Files
To remove tags from a file, please do any of the following:
- In the Documents or Recent panel, tap beside the file that you want to remove tags, and select Edit Tag. Then unselect the tag(s) in the Edit Tag dialog box, and tap Done.
- In the Tags window, find the file that you want to remove tags, tap under the file name, choose Delete, and confirm your operation. Please note that this method will remove all tags from the file.
- When the file you want to remove tags is opened in Foxit PDF Reader Mobile, tap on the toolbar at the top, and select Edit Tag. Then unselect the tag(s) in the Edit Tag dialog box, and tap Done.
Zip and Unzip the File or Folder
This feature allows you to reduce the file size by compressing files and folders into a ZIP file, which helps to save storage space in your device.
To zip the files or folders:
- Tap to open the Tool Selector;
- Tap Documents;
- Tap on the toolbar at the top;
- Select the files or folders;
- (On iPad) Tap ;
(On iPhone) Tap More > Zip; - Input a name for the zip file, and tap OK.
To unzip the files or folders: tap the zip file directly.
Compare Two PDF Files (available on iPad only)
- Tap to open the Tool Selector;
- Tap Documents;
- Tap on the toolbar at the top;
- Select two PDF files that you want to compare;
- Tap .
Tip: Foxit PDF Reader Mobile currently only supports comparing two PDF files at a time.
Save the PDF File
You can save the PDF file after modifying it with the following steps:
- On the document pane, tap on the toolbar;
- Tap Save to save the changes and overwrite the existing file;
- Otherwise, choose Save as to save the file as a copy with the following steps:
- Tap the document name to rename the PDF file;
- Select the desired format:
- Select the place to save the file:
- Device: Save the file on your local disk;
- Cloud: Save the file in the cloud service.
- Tap Edit Tag to add or update tags to the file. Please refer to "Edit Tag Dialog Box" for more information.
- Select the folder or cloud service as desired, and tap Select.
Tip: Foxit PDF Reader Mobile can save the PDF files automatically to guard against losing your work in case of an application issue or your battery running out. If you want to turn off the Auto Save feature, please tap in the Tool Selector, and then slide the Auto Save toggle to OFF.
Flatten the PDF File
You can flatten a PDF file to make the images, text boxes, fillable elements, or other additions to the PDF become seamless integrated into the PDF and prevent further editing. Steps are as follows:
- On the document pane, tap on the toolbar;
- Tap Flatten;
- Click OK to confirm your operation.
Optimize the PDF File (Subscription Required)
Foxit PDF Reader Mobile allows subscribers to optimize PDF documents to reduce file size and free up storage space.
- On the document pane, tap on the toolbar;
- Tap Reduce File Size, and confirm your operation.
Tip: Please note that the optimized PDF file will overwrite the original file by default. Please save the original PDF file as a copy before optimization, if necessary.
View and Edit the Document Properties
Foxit PDF Reader Mobile allows users to check and view the document properties, including PDF Version, Title, Subject, Security, and more. Subscribers can also edit document title, subject, creator, author, producer and keywords to identity a document better.
- On the document pane, tap on the toolbar;
- Tap Properties to view the document properties;
- (Subscription required) To edit the document title, subject, creator, author, producer, or keyword, tap the corresponding field and input the information;
- Upon completion, tap the Close icon to close the Properties dialog box.
