Work on 3D Content in PDF Files

Foxit PDF Editor allows subscribers to view and interact with 3D models embedded in PDF documents.

Enable a 3D Model in a PDF File

By default, a 3D model embedded in a PDF file is initially displayed as a two-dimensional preview image. You can tap the 3D model in a PDF document to enable the 3D content. Once enabled, you can view and interact with the 3D model within Foxit PDF Editor.

Navigate through a 3D Model

Once you have enabled a 3D model successfully, the 3D model will be displayed in a dedicated window with a toolbar. Foxit PDF Editor allows you to move, rotate, zoom in, or zoom out of the 3D model in the dedicated 3D interaction window.

Rotate a 3D Model

To obtain a specific viewpoint of a 3D model, you can rotate it to the desired angle. To rotate a 3D model, use one finger to drag and rotate it in the desired direction.

Zoom In or Out of a 3D Model

Use the two-finger pinch gesture to zoom in or out of a 3D model. This is helpful for you to focus on specific details or get a broader perspective of the 3D model.

Move a 3D Model

Use two fingers to drag and move a 3D model in any direction. The 3D model will follow the motion of your fingers.

Undo or Redo the Last Action

When interacting with a 3D model, you can tap or on the toolbar at the top of the 3D interaction window to undo or redo your last action.

Return to the Default View

The default view lets you quickly revert to the initial or predefined view that is set as default at any time as you work on a 3D model. If the 3D model is moved out of your view, you can return to the default view to move it back into focus.

Exit the 3D Interaction Window

To exit the 3D interaction window, tap  on the toolbar at the top of the 3D interaction window. This action will disable the 3D rendering and display the standard two-dimensional PDF preview.
