What is the Signer Email Field

This field captures the email of the signer at a desired location on the document. The email will automatically be populated as the email address of the signer provided by the sender.

This field captures the signer’s name on the document. The name will automatically be populated as the name of the signer provided by the sender.

This field allows you to enter multiple lines of text e.g. address or comments or subjective description.

What is the Attachment Field

This field allows the signer to upload any assisting document/image file. This field can be mandatory or optional.

After the documents are completed, attachment tags are not displayed on the document anymore but the attachments show up on the right-hand side pane under the attachment tab. Attachments are also zipped and presented to the signer in the email when the executed documents are downloaded.

What is the Text Field

In this field you can enter a single line of text. It is used for entering basic values, such as a name, number, or short phrase.

What is the Check Box Field

A checkbox is commonly used when more than one option may need to be selected. Checking the box would enable that option and unchecking it would disable it.

What is the Date Field

This field captures the data entered by the signer. Date field can be used on the template or document as a fillable field e.g. date of the agreement, date of birth, date of expiration of the contract.

This field captures the date on which the document is signed. The date will automatically be populated as the current date at the time of signing.

What is the Dropdown Field

This field allows the user to choose a single option from a list of multiple options from a dropdown field.

‘Initials’ is a mandatory field which is used for capturing the initials of the signer.

Select the party from the drop-down which is responsible for filling this field.

What is the Secured Field

Secured fields allow you to mask part of the information provided by the recipient or signer such as Social Security Number or Drivers License etc. Secured fields are encrypted in the database. Foxit eSign displays only a selected number of characters to the other signers. The full value of the field can only be retrieved via the report.

About Secured Field:

You can use secured fields when you require sensitive data like SSN, Credit Card, Bank Account Number, etc. You can mask the field information and prevent anyone from seeing the document or downloaded PDF after saving sensitive information.

Based on your company settings, either the author of the document or secured field administrator can only view this information in a downloaded Excel report.

In the company settings page, you can set ‘Restrict Secured Field Access to Authorized Users Only’ to Yes for only secured field admins to see. If you choose this option, you will need to enable the account users.

Who are granted secure field access by updating user profile: Allow Secured Field Access’. If you don’t set these Account and user-level access profiles, the sender will get the access to secured fields by default via a report in an offline mode.

What is the Signature Field

It is a mandatory field that is used for capturing the signature of the signer.

Sign field properties:

Select the party from the drop-down which is responsible for filling this field. The signature field is always mandatory for the signer to complete.

If there are multiple signatures on the form, the signer needs to record the font style or other signature type only once. After signing one time, the remaining signatures are populated on the document when you click on each signature field. Foxit eSign ensures that each section of the documents is signed after reviewing the content.
